Inclusive and Participatory Policy Engagement for Peace and Reconciliation

Inclusive and Participatory Policy Engagement for Peace and Reconciliation

In 2022, ADRO, with funding from the Life and Peace Institute (LPI), successfully implemented the Inclusive and Participatory Policy Engagement for Peace and Reconciliation Project in the Banadir region, Somalia. This initiative addressed governance and reconciliation challenges by fostering inclusive platforms for dialogue and collaboration among communities, local authorities, and civil society organizations.

The project emphasized empowering marginalized groups, including women, youth, and minorities, ensuring their active participation in shaping policies and resolving conflicts. Key activities included community consultations, capacity-building workshops, and policy dialogue forums, all aimed at promoting social cohesion, accountability, and sustainable solutions to long-standing challenges.

By the project’s conclusion in December 2022, ADRO had achieved significant milestones in strengthening governance systems and fostering trust among stakeholders, paving the way for a more peaceful and inclusive society in Somalia.

Key Objectives:

  • Facilitate inclusive platforms for policy development and dialogue.
  • Empower marginalized groups to contribute to governance and peacebuilding.
  • Strengthen trust and collaboration among community members and local authorities.
